3D printing is cropping up everywhere and now in the crime solving environment. As it happens in this case it was the 2D printed fingerprint which unlocked the phone but it seems that was just due to the technicalities of fingerprint recognition. Exciting to think 3D printing, in the right context, could unlock previously unsolved or tricky cases though!!
